Charlie Polinger has been described as a “wunderkind director” by the New York Times. After graduating from Yale in 2013, he directed his first feature film, Muckland. He has directed a diverse range of projects including narrative shorts, web series, music videos, straight plays, and musicals. In 2014 he was awarded a directing residency with Less Than Rent Theatre.
In addition, he recently directed the folk-rock musical Independents, which won the award for best overall production at the New York Fringe Festival and was subsequently extended as part of Soho Playhouse’s Encore Series. The musical was named a New York Times Critics’ Pick and was listed in The Huffington Post’s Best Shows of 2012.
